Colors are very personal, as are any symbolic representation. If a particular color is 'good feng shui' but you hate it, it is not good feng shui. The very definition of "symbol" and "symbolic" is that it stands for something else.

Deities
Feng shui symbol history of animals is extensive. Fish, birds, frogs, horses, cats, dogs, mythical creatures, reptiles, monkeys, and many others have been observed in nature and said to have certain qualities. The belief is that their presence (either in live form or art, statues, etc.) can enhance these traits or qualities for humans.
In addition to numbers, geometric shapes of triangles, rectangles, squares, circles held significance to the relation of heaven, human and earth. These shapes also signify and embody one of the five elements. There are also eight trigrams that represent meanings. These are often found around a bagua.
Colors add symbolic representation traditionally and can be considered symbols in their own right. Black is symbolic of water, green of wood, red of fire, yellow of earth, and white of metal.
