Feng Shui Childrens Bedrooms: Tips to Know

From a feng shui perspective, our bedrooms are the most important spaces to us. Tips to feng shui childrens bedrooms may be even more important because it's where kids sleep, play, hang out, keep their belongings and possibly study. It is the space that they are most connected to and are most impacted by the energy that exists there.

Children are affected by their environment much more readily than adults, because it is believed that a child’s veil between consciousness and unconsciousness is very thin. Studies show that a child can feel the effect of an image or item in nine minutes, as compared to nine days for an adult.

To feng shui childrens bedrooms, keep in mind the child's age. When a child reaches the age of 14 they become less sensitive and less reactive to their environment, therefore becoming more in alignment to an adult's reaction to space. (As with all things in life though there are exceptions to the rules. There are adults and children that are just more sensitive in general.)

Remove clutter, minimize

It is important to first keep children’s rooms calm and uncluttered. Think about the age of your child. If they are under fourteen, really look at the items you are bringing in. The lions, tiger, and dinosaur border may really be bringing those creatures in as big stomping around beasts. Tanks, guns, warfare images of soldiers etc., while seeming unreal and playful to you as an adult, are actually being interpreted and imprinted as real on the child.

Also the sheer number of objects in a child’s room (over stuffed with toys, furniture, etc.) can be overwhelming to a child, leaving them feeling as if there’s no room for them or their imagination.

About TVs and Computers ...

We live in such a technological world it is not uncommon for every room to have its own TV and computer. These "boxes of metal," for all the good they do, are harmful to our bodies. They can emit high levels of EMF’s (electro magnetic fields) of energy. It is not recommended to have televisions or computers in one's bedroom, however if it is a "must," I advise to have them in a cabinet where they can be shut away when not in use. Alternatively, cover them with a black cloth when not in use.

This of course is a personal choice and I respect people's belief and choices in life (we do live in this world after all).
